A little bit about 6geeks and Chris Dawson
6geeks.net (and now 6geeks.com) is my online home away from home. I'm Chris Dawson (only my wife and parents call me Christopher), dad, husband, geek, writer, human, and generally a consultant for anyone who would like to leverage my unique skill sets related to educational technology, social media, technical writing, and project managementVice President of Marketing for an e-learning company called WizIQ. I've used the strikethrough since this a very new, very cool, and very time-consuming effort. Suffice to say, I'm not consulting anymore.
I am, however, still freelancing for ZDNet/CBS Interactive, I write extensively about educational technology, Google, and a growing variety of geeky goodness.
Until recently, I was also the technology director for my local school district. After moving the district and its information systems into the 21st century, I left to pursue freelance opportunities. I have taught at the high school and university levels and have extensive experience in data analysis, project management, and technical writing.
I live with my wife, 5 kids (yes, 5), a great dog, a bad puppy, a hateful cat, and various other critters in the middle-of-nowhere rural New England, where the ability to work from home and hang out with my family on snow days is pretty darned awesome.
Bonus points, by the way, if you can decipher the binary in the 6geeks logo.
